July Newsletter - 3 Great Ways to Manifest Change

Hello

Maintaining productivity and performance amidst the chaos is a challenge for many professionals. What is often not understood is this. The culture of working harder for longer is scientifically known to be counter productive. The more we focus on that long list of jobs, the less you notice the good ideas and aligned narratives desperate for your attention.

All I ask is should any of the tips below peak your interest, please consider one small habit you will change this Summer. What will you replace or include in your daily attention. Include the time of day and how often.

Be that rare individual committed to improve yourself just 1% each day. It's such a powerful mindset to have and will improve your chances of a happier healthier longer future.

Change for the better does take time but -

As Thomas Edison said 'I have not failed, I just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Attempt 10,001 could be your lightbulb moment too!

Good luck and remember that I'm here for you.

Your feedback helps me to better support you.

Where Attention Goes Energy Flows

Why this Matters

Our brains are actually most active and creative when we do nothing. No I haven't mistyped this! It's all down to our Default Mode Network which wakes up and sets about making your best decisions and figuring out the most complex of conundrums, when your executive functions are allowed a rare break.

Make it Easy

  • Pick some summer flowers and pop then in a vase or jam jar.
  • Place this somewhere where you sit and tune in to the detail in whatyou see for a minute or two.
  • Sit them next to the toilet and lose yourself in the detail, as shown in the above allium. Try this instead of doom scrolling on socials.

What you focus on determines whereyour energy channels itself

This includes our emotional energy, as confirmed by functional MRI scans.

Why this Matters

  • Attention connects your outer world to inner world and how it unfolds
  • Thoughts, words and emotions are all energy
  • Energy can’t be created or destroyed
  • Energy is in constant motion and never rests
  • Change is energy’s only attribute
  • So why not change the thoughts, the words and the emotions?

Make it Easy

  • What’s had most of your attention today
  • Awareness interrupts the autopilot because you can’t shift what youdon’t notice
  • Consider doing an attention audit 2-3x daily

The brain becomes what it repeats

Why this Matters

  • Builds neural pathways
  • Strengthens emotional patterns
  • Becomes your habits

Make it Easy

  • Think of a current challenge
  • Imagine a different more positive version of you, with this challenge
  • What steps would support progress towards that version of yourself?
  • Consider changing your environment to support where your attentiongoes and where your energy flows instead

Bonus tip

So many versions are of ourselves are available but we often collapse

into states we’re familiar with

Notice when you feel overwhelmed and decide which

version to step into instead
